Bell Work: What does relevant mean?
Learning Goals: We took a quiz on reading non-fiction texts. We learned how to write a good paragraph a social studies class.
Colorado Standards: N/A
Lesson Overview: We took the quiz on reading nonfiction. I was not satisfied with the class's performance on the test, students scored a 72% average. I am concerned that how I wrote the quiz artificially deflated the student's performance on it. Therefore, I will be rewriting the quiz and giving it on Monday, September 21, 2015.
Students continued to watch a presentation. They took notes, participated in discussions, and completed activities in connection with the presentation.
Follow Up: Students will be writing a paragraph in class, which will be due on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
